When I see a site such as 2Advanced’s and see artwork such as this, I feel two things simultaneously, creating such an internal conflict. One, awe inspired direction to push my limits to create more visually rich designs, apps and media. Two, complete utter frailty in design capabilities I have such attained thus far in my creative journey. The first one always wins out. I want to say thank-you to the 2Advanced team for being such an inspiration.

otrxm… the pyramid is specifically one located at 20 degrees n latitude 88.2 w longitude. I noticed while they were in the midst of doing this rather large update, they had a loading/under construction page that had those coordinates. Turns out it’s a Mayan pyramid of quite a bit of fame. Lots of mysterious legends related to it. Cool facts like when you clap your hands in the center hallways, it sounds like a bird chirping outside. I think it’s called The Pyramid of Kukulkan or something along those lines.

Very clever! The pyramid illustrated here is in fact the Pyramid of Kukulkan.

Wonderful, I really like this ice look, so cold. I wonder how much time you spend on this kind of artwork. Amazing! like the rest :)

I love it… I have been notcing alot in your art you are using these ‘pyramid’ type things with light beams shooting into the sky.. Any meaning of these?

The pyramid in Attractor represents the ellusive “light” or ultimate transcedence of understanding we all seek. It is the question, the answer, the riddle, the power, the mystery, the inspiration, the underlying energy that draws the human race forward. I have written pages upon pages of notes about what the “Attractor” really is, and I’m still not 100% clear on what it is completely.

Terrence Mckenna was actually my first inspiration for incorporating the idea of an “Attractor” into the new version of 2Advanced. He speaks of an undescribable object glittering in hyperspace, throwing off reflections of itself which actually richochet into the past and bring us inspiration in one form or another. I suppose you could call it the ultimate source of human novelty or inspiration, the force that drives us to create art, music, or anything else that helps us try to illuminate the world we live in and connect with one another.

In order to give the “Attractor” a more identifiable quality, I chose to represent it as a pyramid of light, something that everyone can relate to, rather than an intangible object in space that people cannot relate to. Some people connect pyramids with humankind’s “ingression into novelty”, and even say that they may provide a kind of map to the future, if we only looked closer.
